Ultimately, after professing her blamelessness for years, the doctor’s insurance company told us that she wanted to settle the case. At first, the insurance company was not willing to pay our client what she thought was fair, and the case did not settle right away. After more litigation, the insurance company contacted us again and significantly increased its settlement offer. They agreed to pay an amount that will provide the child and his mother with financial security for the rest of their lives.
We developed an incredibly special relationship with our client and her son. We remain in contact even now, after their case has been resolved. We will be forever proud of the recovery we were able to obtain for them and for our ability to hold the responsible doctor accountable for the damage she caused.
