Testicular cancer is not common, and the lifetime risk of getting the disease is only 1 in 250. The average age for diagnosis is 33 years old, usually young or middle-aged men. However, as much as 6% of cases occur in teens and children. Only 8% of cases are found in older men.

Treatments are usually successful, with the lifetime risk of dying from testicular cancer only at 1 in 5,000. This may also be attributed to the better immune response and recovery ability of younger men, who can withstand cancer treatment much better than older demographics. This is because the testicles are quite isolated and difficult to miss when symptoms arise.
